“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:20

As we reflect on this scripture, think of the price that was paid for you at Calvary. Celebrities all seem to boast their net worth. How “great” they must be to be worth so many millions of dollars! If we were to do that, my net worth would just read “silver and gold have I none”! Even my coins are just nickel plated copper! Still, Jesus found us worthy to be bought. I can imagine myself now, on the auction block of sin. The serpent auctioneer rattling off my accusations. “SINNER!”, I hear him say. As he shoots his fiery darts, I imagine looking out, no hands raised to purchase such a vessel. Who would? If an automobile were to roll the auction floors with parts hanging off, holes in its panels, smoke emitting from its engine, would you purchase it? I know I wouldn't. Sure, off the assembly line, it was beautiful! Much to be desired of! Then it spends a few winters in the northern part of the U.S. Rust begins to set in. Such a thing is cancer to metal. There is no stopping it without a full restoration. It will need a lot of work, and many components replaced. What we decided to do with such vehicles at my former job, was to send it back to where it came. Structurally, it was unsafe. It was not road worthy. Sin does the same thing in our lives. It creeps in. Little by little until the vessel is deemed useless. We’re left on the auction block of sin, awaiting our judge. No buyer. No one to claim us. The salvage yard of hell in sight. The auctioneer sneers as he excitedly proclaims “going once…… going twice…..”. He’s got us. This is it. Until a hand arises from the crowd. Looking upon this hand, we can see through it. The red drops of blood falling from the nail scarred hand. This man softly and tenderly says, “I’ll take him”. The auctioneer states again that we are useless. Stained with sin. Bound for hell. Worthless. “I’ll take him”. Paid in full. No exchange of gold or silver. Those same drops of blood atoning for the price of our sin. This man Jesus, pays the price for an unworthy vessel with His life. He takes the vessel, gives it a new manual. Piece by piece, He picks up the broken pieces, mends the cracks, seals the paint, and restores us into a “vessel for the finer”. Oh, What a Savior is mine! Therefore glorify God! The road may get bumpy, you may pop a tire, and you may have to do some preventative maintenance, but you are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God! When the gas light comes on, fuel up! Fill your tank on the Word of God! His Word is a GPS. If you make a wrong turn, don’t worry, it will recalculate and get you back on the journey! It’s ok to look in the rearview mirror. Look at what He’s brought you from, and glorify God! While you’re on your way, pick up a trailer, stop by the auction, and bring a broken down vessel to the Restoration Shop!

Take the time today to glorify God. Physically and Spiritually. He won't mind a lifted hand of praise, or some time with Him in the prayer closet!

Love y’all and praying for y’all!
