The Heart of Thankfulness - Part 1

The Heart of Thankfulness - Part 1

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalms 34:1

As we are on approach to Thanksgiving, it is a time that we should be striving to reflect on the things that God has done for us so that we can be thankful for them. Over the next few days, I want us to examine our thankfulness by the scripture that we find in Psalms 34:1.

The first two words in this passage, "I will", show us that Determination is required for us to be truly thankful. The natural essence of man is to be unthankful, so it requires an intentional action, supported by God, for us to be thankful for the things that God has done. Sometime determination comes from things that we can to help keep us mindful of the tasks at hand. Setting aside a time, not matter how often, to reflect on the goodness of God will never lead us astray. As well, it may not hurt to have outside influence to keep us thankful. Having our spouse or a close friend to remind us to be thankful can be a great help.

Ultimately, we must be diligent to thank God everyday for the blessings that He has given us. As we enter this Thanksgiving season, let us be extra thankful for all that God has done!

I apologize for the spottiness of the posts the past few days. Tara along with three of our kids have been sick, so our hands have been full! Please pray that God would give them a quick recovery so that things can get back on track.

We love you, Church!
